“Daniel Brooks?”
Faith nodded.
“Yes, sir.”
Robert slowly removed his glasses.
“Your father designed the synchronization logic used in the first CA-90 prototype.”
Preston suddenly stepped forward.
“That’s impossible. Daniel Brooks left this company years ago.”
Faith looked directly at him.
“He didn’t leave, Mr. Caldwell. He was fired after reporting a serious design concern.”
The atmosphere changed instantly.
Robert looked toward Preston.
“Sir, is that true?”
Preston’s face hardened.
“That has nothing to do with this aircraft.”
Faith reached into her backpack and removed a weathered folder.
“My father kept copies of his engineering reports. He warned that someone had altered the original safety specifications to meet an impossible development deadline.”
She placed the folder on the table.
“And I think the same changes are still being hidden.”
Robert opened the first page.
His hands began to tremble.
Because the document contained an internal engineering warning dated five years earlier.
At the bottom was Daniel Brooks’s signature.
And beside it was the name of the executive who had ordered the warning removed from the official project records.
Preston Caldwell.
The cameras were still recording.
And suddenly, the billionaire realized that Faith hadn’t merely repaired his aircraft.
She had brought back the evidence her father had tried to expose before his career was destroyed.
But there was one final page in the folder.
A page Faith had never shown anyone.
And what it revealed could threaten far more than Preston’s $500 million contract.
